Unbelievably, today we saw a small pod of Dolphins swimming close to the shore.
We were out today on a small beach walking and playing with Fudge. He was playing chase the ball and was constantly in and out of the sea.
We had sat down on an outcrop of rocks just watching the waves breaking onto the shore, as the tide ebbed.
We noticed Northern Gannets feeding just off the shore. They are fascinating to watch. Flying over the sea looking for fish before flying higher and diving into the sea for their meal.
We sat for ages just watching flying and diving. It was just fascinating to watch.
After a while we moved to higher ground and suddenly spotted some movement in the sea and realised they were dolphins.
It was unbelievable and fascinating to see several Dolphins swimming fairly close to the sea shore. They were only in sight for a few minutes as they made their way down the coast.
It was totally unexpected and a great privilegeto see dolphins.
